Mission
Full Circle Performance Outreach exists to spread the empowering joy of improvisation to underserved communities.
Full Circle uses improvisation and story performance in two ways. The first is through teaching residencies and workshops, where improv is seen as a process driven tool to engage people’s creativity, and empower ensemble driven play and discovery. The second is through performances given by Full Circle members at locations such as inner city CPS schools, homeless shelters, and Chicago theatre venues when hosting charity events. We aim to stir connections between souls with the profound simplicity of laughter, and to touch and reveal the human dignity that lies in all people and comes forth through the profound simplicity of play.
Full Circle Core Beliefs:
SERVICE: giving back to the community through sharing our skills of improvisation.
DIGNITY: everyone can act, everyone can improvise, and everyone has a vital voice. Anyone who wishes to, can play.
CREATIVITY: the significance of play within the human spirit, and an intuitive approach to problem solving.
HUMILITY: pursuing excellence in our own skills through continued training, professional development, and reflection.
COMMUNITY: cultivating trust and collaboration in those who play and learn with us.
EMPOWERMENT: inspiring confidence, curiosity, and risk taking.
EMPATHY: fostering the ability to listen, be self-aware, and trust.
DIVERSITY: serving and learning from those of various age, gender, socio-economic status, geographic location, and ethnicity.
